In a significant move towards modernizing transportation infrastructure in Bataan, 2nd District Representative Abet Garcia participated in the House Committee on Appropriations budget hearing on August 28, focusing on the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
During the session, Garcia emphasized the importance of the Bataan Transportation Modernization Masterplan, particularly in light of the upcoming construction of the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge. “The Bataan Transportation Modernization Masterplan is crucial for our province’s continued progress. It not only prepares us for the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge but also addresses the traffic issues in Metro Manila, which could potentially affect our region,” Garcia stated. Congressman Garcia stressed that the implementation of this masterplan is expected to alleviate traffic congestion in Metro Manila while preventing similar issues in Bataan.
Rep. Garcia also inquired about the allocation of resources for the Transportation Network Vehicle Service in Balanga City, the feasibility study for the proposed Bataan Railway, and the construction of bike lanes throughout the province. “We are fully committed to ensuring that these projects are implemented efficiently,” Rep. Garcia assured his constituents, highlighting his dedication to advancing the transportation sector in Bataan. As Bataan gears up for these transformative projects, the local government and the DOTr are expected to collaborate closely to bring these initiatives to fruition, paving the way for a more connected and modernized province.
